Yes, two of my sisters (Zoe & Maureen ) attended SPM..
Entering From Galle Rd, 15 Marys rd was next to the Fernando’s on the left side I think, a 2 story house and the Salmons (Nilufer, MImi, Hiran and their Mother) lived there for a while till about 1975, Mr salmon re married and was living in Kotte.. Do you know where they are now??
I remember we used to have a good time at Mary’s Rd..
I am trying to remember you, I left Sri Lanka in 1973 ..
We lived at No 2 Marys rd and the Business ( Auction House) was next to it at 308 Galle Rd Col 4..
i was born at 15 Mary’s Rd my granpa’s house…and our neighbours were fernandos on one side and Batholomuesz on the other i think in the annex was another lady cant quite remember her name..opp was Saverimuttu and next to her ..lady doctor Serasinghe..Mr Salmon etc came after we moved to 15 St peters place in June 1962…My mums younger sister moved in after us and the Salmon her relative lived upstairs (milk board chairman)
I remember The Auction house and the house next to it and i guess your sis..if i am not mistaken the younger was was with my sis Jasminah….at SPM
Fricky khan was the most poular boy that time..he died and so did his older brother Azeez…Ihave got the latest pic of the fernando’s in my blog and also some of the other pics…If i do get the pics of Marys road with the rest of the crowd i would post them…lovely hearing from you..can you post some of your pics to me so that i can post them on my blog both for the Marys Road and my friends page and also add them on to the SPM page on FB

I was 18 when I left Sri Lanka in 1973, so I probably did not know you, I remember the
Saverimuttu living opp you. I also remember some Sinhalese family moved next to them & Hiram Salmon young as he was, was head over heals in love with the girl (Janaka Sister) from that family. I believe Hiram Salmon died in India some time ago
of Liver Problems, So sad… Yes his Father was the one time Chairman of the Milk Board.. I remember “Fricky Khan” the name he gave him self , so his Father & Mother would not find out he was racing M/Bikes with my bro (Brian Coomerawel ) who passed away in 2007, I also remember Azeez and I think there was another brother and Sister?. I remember during the 1970′s curfew all the boys in Mary’s road including
Christopher Seneveratna , helped our selves to the Curambas from the Seneveratna
2 trees, there was an old toothbrush at the foot of one of the trees, and the next morning I overheard Christopher’s Mum telling my Mum that the thieves even brushed
their teeth after drinking her Curambas, I still have a smile on my face when i think of it… I could not find the picks of the Fernando’ s on your blog, please direct me !!

Kevin in the year 1973 i was no longer at Marys Road…In 1962 we moved to St Peters Place where my dad passed away in the year 1963 the dawn of 24th May while presiding at the Customs Union meeting. I was there from birth till my 13thBday..Kevin at 18 in 1973 means you are number of years younger than me..cos i was born in 1949. you would have been a toddler..We were called the Ibrahims I used to go to Ms Karunatnes for music classes..Do you remember our Santa? Do you remember Heidi n her sisters? Its lovely chatting to you about old times..Are you on FB/Skype? Please send some pics of you and the Marys Rd fam for my blog if yoi have any..I am now in contact with the Fernandos..Was very sad to hear Azeez passed away.Do yu remember te Lye family..Roger pereira? Karunatnes, but I remember Haig ,Shela Brian Karunatarta , can’t remember Heidi an her sister.. I don’t remember the Lye family, I know Roger Pereira, he married a distant cousin of mine “Cheryl “, they migrated to Melbourne then moved back to the Mary,s rd house and shared the house with his brother Mackie & his family for a few years and then moved back to Melbourne, his Brother Bernard also lives in Melbourne..
Sad to hear that Azeez also passed on, was he the guy who walked with a limp?
I also remember all the boys from castle lane, but I can’t remember most of their names to even try and search them. would be nice to have a reunion some time..

Still couldn’t find the picture of your Sister, I am in Sydney about 1000 Kms from Roger in Melbourne, I have not spoken to Roger or Cheryl ( his wife) in about 4-5 years..

if you can reach Roger n inform him that i am trying to reach him..n all my Marys road contacts.Roger my brother firoz n fricky were great pals..they built a house on top of our Jak tree. It collapsed and they came down..I am sure Roger will remember this incident..tnx for your kindness..shall try to reach you skype tomrrow as schools are closed…here in KSA
